Are you upset of your skin looking older than it is?

Robin Ashinov, a dermatologist in the medical centre of New Jersey University, along with some colleagues of his, points out the most important factors when trying to get rid of the wrinkles:

1. Avoid sunlight
With a research, which several twins have taken part, the plastic surgeon from New York Daric Antel proves that exposing to sunlight plays bigger role in the appearing of wrinkles even than the heredity. The twins that didn’t expose their skin to a direct sunlight looked younger than their sisters or brothers that liked the sun.

2. Do not SMOKE!
The researches are unconditional – tobacco smoke makes the skin look older. When you smoke, enzymes that destroy collagen and elastin, important components of the skin structure, are released. So quit smoking right now.

3. Have a good sleep.
A dermatologist from Yale Nicholas Perikone proves that when we don’t have enough sleep regularly, our body starts producing unnecessary quantity of cortisol – the hormone that destroys the structure of cells.

4. Sleep on your back.
The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) warns that the improper posture when sleeping leads to appearing of lines on your skin. If you sleep at one side, there is a risk of wrinkles to appear on your cheeks and chin, and sleeping on your stomach may furrow your forehead.

5. Wear suitable glasses.
The scientists from AAD explain that every repetition of a gesture may overload some face muscle and thus form lines on your skin. So wear glasses, made special for you. And more – wear sunglasses.

6. Eat more fish
A lot of fish species, as salmon, are good sources of proteins – main ‘builder’ of the skin and important source of Omega-3 acid.

7. Eat more soya
The results of many researches on this topic show that one of the advantages of the soya is preserving and healing the skin from sunburn. The results of a recent research, posted in European Journal of Nutrition show that nutrition supplements, based on soya, improve the structure of the skin.

8. Replace the coffee with cacao.
A publication in European Journal of Nutrition from 2006 proves that the ingredients of cacao protect the skin from the harmful influence of the sun, improve the regeneration of the cells and make the skin softer and sleeker.

9. Eat more fruits and vegetables.
‘The secret’ – says doctor Krouse. – ‘is in their antioxidant ingredients. They are struggling against the free radicals and thus help the skin preserve its healthy young look.

10. Use hydratants.
Women mainly stake on products against aging and often miss the fact that on a dry and dehydrated skin wrinkles appear easier.

11. Don’t go to extreme with the washing of your face
According to dermatologists from the medical centre of Maryland University, the water from your basin destroys the natural protection of your skin and washing it too often, you just leave it defenseless against bad influence.
