Common Problems of Laptops
The broadening IT world seems to have no boundaries. Each day a new product or a new invention is born. As it manages to expand itself, it gets sleeker each day. Today, with the laptop or a palm top in your hand, you have the world closer than an arm's length to you. Laptops have proved to be helpful to everybody. Be it housewives, businessmen or students. In fact, laptops are everybody's shorthand. Nowadays, a refurbished laptop solves the problems of many. Like a used laptop, these are available at a fairly lower price. This makes them affordable and within reach of nearly everyone.
With their constant use and exposure to usual work, laptops have shown a few problems. These common problems happen in most cases however, they are not so hard to be rectified.
The most common problem is of a spillage. If you accidently spill a liquid on the laptop, you must take care of it before liquid intrusion takes place. Just after you have spilled something over it, turn off the power supply immediately and put it upside down for twenty to thirty minutes. Next, remove the leads, power unit and the battery and let it stay like this overnight so that the liquid dries from the inside.
The second most common problem is of dropping the laptop. This problem however, may not be so easy to troubleshoot. Dropping the laptop may cause the case to be scraped and the screen to be smashed. Previously, laptops used to have modular parts, but nowadays laptops come with parts that are integrated within the whole body. Due to this reason it may be hard to repair this problem.
Another problem people complain about most is the dark image appearing on the screen. The reason for this may be that the close switch of the LCD is stuck in a closed position. For this you need to check the LCD close switch. Tap the switch gently a few times until you get to see the backlight. If that does not work, do not keep on tapping. Instead, replace the FL inverter board.
A laptop may also suddenly turn off just like that! The reason for this in older computers might be that the laptop had overheated. If you are encountering such a problem, you must go outdoors or somewhere that is cooler. You should also look around the internal cooling fan. Accumulated dust fibers may be the reason behind this problem. If the pressure of the air coming out of the cooling outlet is generally low, there might be a problem.
At times, you may also find out that all of your drives may not be operating when you turn on the laptop. This problem is usually prevalent in removable drives, such as a CD-ROM or a DVD-ROM. The reason for this may be corrupted software or a failed drive. To troubleshoot this problem, check all your installed drives. This problem can easily be rectified by installing the drivers from a Driver CD.
Problems regarding the operating system of the laptops are also commonly reported. If the laptop faces problems with the boot up, select Safe mode by pressing the F8 key on start up. Furthermore, you should clean your laptop from ant viruses and install a new operating system.
